I went to get lunch at Macy’s yesterday, and when I walked into the State Street store I was greeted by these headless wonders. As I was photographing them, a confused Macy’s employee informed me the the heads would be joining the bodies sometime this week. Phew.
If you didn’t know about the rainbow “Welcome Back Color” campaign and the Macy’s Flower show that starts this weekend, you would just assume that the gay pride parade was happening early this year, and it starts at the entrance of Macy’s on Randolph and State. Just look at the manikins:
Where have I seen this before? OH YES:
Priscilla Queen of the Desert. If you haven’t seen it, you are missing out. If you want to sing Abba while dressed in drag, sitting in a silver high heel, on top of a moving bus, you definitely want to add this to your Netflix list. If you have only known Hugo Weaving as Agent Smith or Elrond, you are in for a treat. If you want to watch it on Betamax, call my Uncle Craig. I am sure he will let you borrow it if you take good care of it.
And now for something completely different. My walk home is becoming more “springy” every day. The weather still deserves nothing more than a half-hearted “meh”… but the growing things are persistent none the less.
